Toronto City Hall.

Queen Street West

This time I got off at Queen Station and walked west. If you are tired, you could also take the streetcar. The streetcars here run frequently, so people don't need to wait for a long time, but the traffic is very busy during the rush hours, it will be very crowed because of it is near business park.

Queen Street is one of my favorite street. It's full of fashion. There are so many special stores, the prices are above the average, you could find many ornaments or something hippie. You could also find some second-handed stores, these clothes are very classical, if you want to buy some classical sweaters and you don't hate to wear something that is used, you could consider it. The clothes here is good, and the quality is not bad, the price is not high. If you are afraid of wearing something that you could easily find in . you could come here to look for some treasures.

Get off the street car from Queen Station, you will see Eaton Center. It's the biggest shopping mall in downtown. In front of Eaton Centre, it's Bay. This is also a mall, but the products are more expensive than those in Eaton Centre. It opened the branch of Top Shop last year. There are so many high building here because it is a business park.

Old City Hall

Then walking west, a high building is right beside you. The archaic color of the building and the old wall are very historical. It's Old City Hall. Located here with modern buildings makes this old structure more particular.

it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

People go skiing in the middle of Nathan Phillips Square in Winter.

City Hall

After then, you would see the New City Hall. This is the city hall which now operates. It structures with two buildings with streamline shapes, it's very special. People come to take a rest in Summer, and when it becomes colder, people here always come to enjoy skiing.

The Starbucks in front of the City Hall is cool as well, it's close to a TD Bank.

Osgoode Hall

Then, Osgoode Hall is in sight. Osgood is named in honor of their first Chief Justice of the Province, William Osgoode. And this hall was also  designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

Outside of St. Clair West Station
TTC monthly pass is allowed to take the public transport for no limited, so I liked to get off the transport at random. The road in Toronto is different from that in Taiwan, it's very straight, so it's not easy to get lost.
This time I took the yellow line and got off at St. Clair West Station, then walked east to St. Clair Station.

Holy Rosary Parish Hall

Near the subway station, a white church is over there. This is Holy Rosary Church, which is founded in 1892, the history is over hundred years, you could get it from the old wall. This church attracted me is Mary looking at the sky. It's the most beautiful and kindly Mary Statuary I have ever seen. I am always interested in the building of Church, so I had taken lots of pictures when I was in Toronto. If you want to make a visit this church, you could attend worship with people and enjoy the atmosphere of it on Sunday.
Mary Statuary

A beautifully decorated house by the roadside

There are many detached houses by the roadside. These houses look so wide and new.Due to the cold weather, I chose to go back to St. Clair Avenue. Though it was April, but it was so cold and my hands without gloves were almost freezing.

Then, there's a larger church. It is Timothy Eaton Memorial Church. It is built in 1914, almost one hundred years ago. This Church is very stately, outside is a wide grass. There was a tree with pink flowers, but at that day it was very cloudy, so the color in the picture is not clear.

My favorite Disney character, Peter Pan.

Then, near the Avenue Road and St. Clair Avenue, there's a park named Glenn Gould Park over there. The most spacial thing is a Peter Pan Statue stands in the middle of the park. Near this Lovely statue, there is a playground slide for kids. If I didn't come here, I guessed I would have never known this sculpture. There are not many Peter Pan statues in the world, the most well-known one is in the UK, I was so surprised that one statue is in Toronto.

Consulate General of the Republic of Korea

The brass plate

After walking across the Avenue Road, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea is over there. I was surprised that I saw it here because I didn't know it was located here. The sign on the wall says "Consulate General of the Republic of Korea". This building is very graceful, besides, you could see the their flag(Taegukgi) fluttering in the wind. Let's keep moving on, many old buildings are in sight.

An Old building

There are many old English buildings on the road,  you could see the pipe outside of the building, and the climbing vines creep along all of the wall. The buildings look so historical, and made me feel I was in an old small ancient town.

After having stayed in Toronto for few months, my Taiwanese friends and I missed Taiwanese food a lot, though Taiwanese food and Chinese food are so similar, but the tastes are a little bit different. We tried to find somewhere to eat Taiwanese food, but we didn't succeed. One day we were on our way to Yonge St. from another Rosedale, then we found here. Then it became one of our favorite place to go.

If my friends and I saw a Tim Hortons in our sights on a cold day, it seemed like we found an oasis in a desert.

Coffee store is very special in my life, the smell from coffee stores always reminds me of the memory when I was in USA. Then I realized that I love coffee because I am addicted to the smell.
This time I am going to introduce a brand of coffee store chain that you can see almost everywhere in Canada.
  This brand is Tim Hortons.

There are some main coffee stores chain in Toronto, such as Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Second Cup and Timothys etc. The average prices of Starbucks is similar to that in Taiwan, but the cups is cheaper than that in Taiwan when it's on sale.
Almost everyone knows Tim Hortons if you have been to Canada or live in Canada. It seems like 7-11 in Taiwan, though the options in Tim Hortons are not as many as those in convenience stores, but it quite satisfy us. There are Starbucks in Toronto as well, but it's not as popular as Tim Hortons. (Starbucks is very popular in Taiwan.)

Tim Hortons is like Mr. Donuts (A Japanese Donuts Chain), it sells Coffee and snakes, compare to the average price there, the food in Tim Hortons is not expensive at all so that foreign students could afford it. In 1964, It was founded in Hamilton by a hockey player, Tim Hortons. Now, Tim Hortons is the biggest fast food Chain in Canada.
  (Thanks to Jennifer Tai's Pictures.)

Tim Hortons Franchises spread in Canada as rapidly as 7-11 in Taiwan, you could see it everywhere, such as Subway station or big malls. This shows how deeply Western people love Coffee. Besides, due to the cold weather, seats are usually offered for customers, so we poor students always ordered coffee or desserts, and stayed there for few hours.

There's a Tim Hortons below the second building of ILAC in Toronto Campus.(Yes, I was ILAC students.) It is always full of people in the morning and at lunch time, students and officers will come to line up for a drink. You can also order Muffins and Donuts, there are various flavors to choose and they are inexpensive.
You can order one cup of hot chocolate and see the snow outside of window in Winter, or you could enjoy ice capp in hot Summer time.
Tim Hortons also sells breakfast, sometimes if I didn't want to eat cereal for breakfast, I would come here to have a sandwich, then I felt more fresh at school.

There are many options of Muffins, such as Blueberry, whole Grain Blueberry, and Cranberry etc. One cost about CA$1 dollars. My favorite flavor is Triple Chocolate Muffin, it looks very black and has strong chocolate scent. You can get discount if you buy six Muffins.

I had so many golden Memories with my friends here, so Tim Hortons is very special to me. I won't forget about it forever. :)

People lined up for a drink or dessert.

  Tim Hortons

  Tim Hortons

There are Snacks and baked goods such as Muffins, Donuts, Cookies, Pastries, and Yogurts etc.

Timbits looks like the Donuts we can buy in Mr. Donuts, it's sweeter but not as chewy as that in Mr. Donuts..

Kinton Ramen

Inside of the restaurant

Menu

Actually, I had never tried Ramen when I was in Taiwan. I remember that the first time I tried Ramen was in Toronto. In my memory, Ramen reminds me of Azuki Chan's classmate, Ken, whose father owned a restaurant.(I am not sure if it's Chinese restaurant or Japanese one.)
As I mentioned, Toronto is a multicultural city in Canada, you can try different kinds of food here, such as Ethiopian food, Chinese food, Tai food and Korean food etc.
Today I am gonna introduce one of Japanese restaurants that I've been to before.
(Now I really want to have a bowl of Ramen.)
Ramen

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish. The soup is usually made of pig's bone, miso etc......,(I am not a chef, if you are very interested in it, please read Ramen from Wiki) it's think and the colour is usually white. You can choose how hard the noodle is. Usually there are three options: Hard, middle, soft. Upon the noodle, they usually put seaweed, Char siu or egg, it depends on what you choose.

Gyoza
I usually chose hard one, but it's not always allowed customers to choose in every restaurant, some restaurants have already decided for the customers. And actually, Ramen soup is a little bit salty for Taiwanese people, so I would recommend you to order slight one.
I went there with my Japanese friend one time, and she also ordered Gyoza and she told me that Japanese people usually order Ramen and Gyoza together, maybe it's Japanese habit?! In Taiwan, Dumplings, rice and noodles are main dishes, we usually don't eat them together.
Spicy vegetable ramen

This Ramen restaurant is not far from China Town and AGO.It is not big and always busy at night, so it's better to come to line up earlier.
Besides, if you are interested in Ramen, I would like to recommend you to watch the movie"The Ramen Girl". To be honest, I've never watched it, but when I was talking about Ramen, my Mexican friend mentioned it.

Espresso Bar

The first floor 一樓

飾品

The Second floor

這裡也有提供客人的座位,你可以享受一杯Espresso(如果你很喜歡濃厚的咖啡的話),你也可以選擇其他種類的咖啡。
Espresso

Matcha Latte

Coffee is not a traditional drink in Taiwan, we usually go to vendors to buy drinks, there's no seats for customers. After having been to Toronto, I've visited many good coffee stores.  I love Coffee store in Toronto, because the interior design and the atmosphere are so great.
Today I am gonna introduce you this coffee store, which is located in Queen Street in Toronto.
This espresso bar is in the second floor of the clothing store, so I had never found it before. I found this wonderful place because one day my friends wanted to go shopping and asked me to go with them, then I was so surprised to get here.
If just look from outside of this store, it's not easy to notice that there is a espresso bar here. I've been here many times,(but I've never bought anything here because the price is a little bit high for me) the clothes here are very special and I think people who love something cool or something not easy to find will love here a lot. (I don't know if you are the same like me, I don't like to see someone in the street who wear the same clothes which you can find in your closet.)

After shopping, you can go up to second floor, there are many clothes here, and you will see the Espresso bar that I am saying now. And there are some tables and seats for the customers. You can enjoy one shot of Espresso(if you love coffee of thicker consistency , you should try it.)  also, you can try other kinds of coffee, you can order it.
Menu
I would recommend that you try the Matcha Latte. It's my favorite drink :)
Matcha is Japanese powder green tea. It made of powder, I also found Matcha Latte in Second cup, the one there is good, but in Lavish&Squalor, Matcha Latte is not sweet, you can decide whether to put sugar inside or not. But because this drink is made from powder, remember to see the mirror if your teeth get green. Haha it's so funny :)
